Gospel musician Celestine Donkor has honoured ace gospel musician Cindy Thompson with a rendition of one of her hit songs during the Celestial Praiz concert.
She flawlessly delivered ‘Awurade wo ne Madinyinaa’ to the admiration of the patrons.
Blessed with a powerful voice, she beautifully mesmerized the hundreds in attendance with her rendition of the popular tune.
“It’s a song that brings me to my knees and reminds me of how much I need God, because without Him, I am nothing,” she told Myjoyonline.com.
“Originally done by Cindy Thompson, it has been my all-time favourite. Veterans like her must be celebrated in their life time in Ghana music history. I started singing the song in church over a decade ago when I was not in the lime light till date,” she added.
Asked what went into the performance, Celestine Donkor added that, “I just decided to add my passion to revive this song because I believe it should never pass away. I did my rendition in English and Ewe live at Celestial Praiz5 as my introduction song and I am already blown away at the feedback so far.”
To her, “It’s a song that brings me to my knees and reminds me of how much I need God, because without him I am nothing. Any life without Christ is like a coalpot without fire, which lizards and cockroaches make of it their dwelling.”
